Tom met with a group of doctors at Sparrow hospital to start talking about treatment. He'll have several rounds of radiation and chemotherapy starting in a couple of weeks. The doctors at Sparrow wanted to hold off on starting therapy until about 4 weeks after the surgery to allow him to heal. The first round will be 6 weeks of daily radiation. His chemo will be taken orally.
In happier news, last weekend was Tom's big 60th birthday party. Most of the family and tons of friends came to the Ma and Pa Hundt farm . We had a great bonfire/cookout/pot luck/wiffle-ball game/round of horseshoes. A large pack of kids roamed the premisis doing their best to reinact The Lord of the Flies while the adults relaxed and put a considerable dent in the food and drink.

That was one of the best Hundt parties of the summer, what a great way to celebrate a birthday!
Tom, you look great! Call me if you need anything...
Love,

Happy Birthday, Tom! You're all in our thoughts!
Thinking of you always! I hope that the present that the girls made you arrived in one piece.
I'm cracking up at the Lord of the Flies reinactment - oh how true...I can still hear the interesting sounds they were making...
Love, Niki
