Since my dad has been in the hospital these last few weeks, I've learned to take things as they come. Sometimes there are good days, sometimes there are bad days. Sometimes there are parts of good days. Since it's more fun to post about the good days, that's what I'll do right now.

I'm at the hospital with Tom. He has been pain-free and pain-meds-free with me since yesterday. He is very aware, talkative, and a jokester with the nurses. This is the best I've seen him since before Neva's birthday in mid-January. We know the key to getting out of the hospital is to get him eating regularly without a supplemental nutrition drip and we're heading in the right direction. He is now taking all of his liquids and meds orally and we put away a good amount of Aunt Jill's homemade chicken soup yesterday. I told him that he worked out at the gym his whole life and sometimes those bench press or deadlift reps didn't feel too good, but he kept going. Now I told him he has an eating workout. Sometimes the food-reps don't feel too good, but he has to keep going. So we did a lot of food-reps, treating each bite like a push-up, curl, or lap around the track.

He still loves that kind stuff.
