Quick note from the second string

Hi everyone-Linda here. Tom had a bit of a set back starting Sunday, Jan. 11th. He passed out while getting out of bed, unfortuately landing on his head. He had to have his noggin check out for bleeding. Good news-no bleeding. Not so good news is his blood pressure was messed up because of A-fib. (His heart was fluttering) Somehow the staff at the hospital was totally amazed that Tom's heart righted itself before we left on Tuesday. Are you surprised? He is on meds to help it stay that way. They say there are a number of causes and Tom had them all, one major cause being a stress in the body. ..tumor and chemo. One which we can take care of is dehydration. It snuck up on us, but not any more!! Poor Tom has a water bottle shoved in his face more often than he cares to. He has been sleeping A LOT. That is good because his body is working hard and hopefully healing as well as fighting. One drawback is that his muscles are becoming weak. So starting yesterday I wake him up mid-morning for "PT." He is lifting three pound weights and doing stretches without even having to get up. Tomorrow we will start "two-a-days" with weights and stretches in the morning and walking around in the house in the afternoon. Maybe next week he will be back on his beloved Airdyne for a few minutes. Please remember him in your prayers as he has chemo once again on Wednesday. Hopefully, we will make it for two weeks until the next one without having to visit the hospital. Sheesh. Any mere mortal would not be holding up mentally or physically as well as Tom. What a man. We appreciate each and every one of you. Linda
