Good news and Bad news. Bad first.

Hello, It's Tuesday, 122308. Not so good news this week, have had a set back, and am back at Sparrow. Last week started suffering some weaknesss and balance issues I dropped a 100 pound plate on my feet Thursday at the gym., no damage was done though, except to my pride when I had to as for help. Came in Friday to get checked and still cooling my heals here. Saturday had a little minor surgery to install an access port in my chest which should make medicine and blood draws more comfortable. An MRI showed the tumor has returned at or near it's original site. This caused swelling which in turn caused the other stuff going on, Today, we are trying hard to schedule surgery to get rid of the tumor. All of the news is not bad though. The radiation I've been through since September did its work. It removed much of the liquid mass that was not removed during surgery. To us, this is huge and it proves our theory that all your thoughts and prayers are working. and although the cure is not complete, it is well underway. As we are waiting on surgery, the doctors here are planning other treatments in case we can't'get the surgery right away. We are doing well, more than a little disappointed, but very confident things are on the way. Thank all of you for your prayers. God is all powerful, but I think it helps to remind him who needs help. as long as there's new info.I'll be sure to keep this updated daily

Good to know that you were strong enough and smart enough to know when it's time to check back with the docs and let God help them heal you. No need to remind you to stay stong as you have been such an inspiration to all. We wish you a Merry Christmas and hope you are surrounded by those you love and those that love you. Much love and still praying for you and your family
Love, Joanna and the gang from PA

I was with my mom and dad while they were in the hospital. I've never seen them so content and happy. Whatever life throws at them, they are ready to meet it with a laugh and challenge it head-on. They're amazing!
